Goodie bags for the children taking part in the Family Camp for children with diabetes

Luiza Zamfirescu came to camp with her arms full of surprises for the kids: tote bags loaded with all kinds of goodies.

Her daughter, Cati, lives with diabetes, and out of a desire to help families going through the same struggles as theirs, Luiza founded the company HeyGluco.

When we talked with her, she shared a childhood memory about her grandfather, who also had diabetes but never had enough needles on hand. That's where the idea for the tote bags came from — a wish to give children exactly what her grandfather once lacked.

That's how Luiza ended up at camp with bags full of things useful for life with diabetes: needles, vitamins, dextrose, and much more.
