Boti, a 5-year-old boy, upon seeing his mother creating something colorful at the arts and crafts workshop, summed up the Family Camp in one sentence: well, adults can return to childhood anytime too!

That's the essence of this camp: both children and adults get to have fun, relax, form friendships with one another, and enjoy moments spent both together and apart.

At the Family Camp for children with diabetes and their families, both children and their parents took part in activities such as archery, horseback riding, climbing, arts and crafts, music, and theater. The 64 participants also enjoyed many games and relaxing family activities. Parents also took part in sessions coordinated and facilitated by psychologists.

"We found people who looked at us beyond the diagnoses. Beyond the limits. Beyond what the world can see at first glance. You saw us. You gave us understanding without us having to ask. Empathy without us having to explain. Patience without ever making us feel like we were 'too much.' And maybe you don't realize it… but for us, all these things mean more than you can imagine. We arrived as people who didn't know each other. And in such a short time, we left with friends, with memories, and with people we already feel close to our hearts," Mihaela Dumitrache, a mother who took part in the camp, told us.
